Pam Epperson Hinton
Pam Hinton, graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a music Minor. She was inspired to pursue post-graduate work in Reading Therapy by her children, several of whom have dyslexia. She first became certified as an Educational Therapist with the National Institute for Learning Disabilities (now named the National Institute for Learning Development) before training in the Barton System of Reading & Spelling and being introduced to Nessy Learning several years later.
Sarah has been an elementary classroom teacher for 8 years with students from 1st to 6th grade, as well as working as a title 1 reading and math teacher for 4. Currently, she is working on her Master's in Reading, and tutoring students using the Barton Reading and Spelling System, the Nessy Program, and Words Their Way.

Tina is certified in the Barton Reading & Spelling System and has trained in Nessy. She has 31 years of experience as an elementary teacher to draw upon and is currently tutoring 9 children independently using Barton. The past year she has also been working with Greater Ideal using Nessy seeing significant gains in reading scores for pupils who have attended recently. These students also had high achievements on the STAAR test.

Jan is a busy pastor’s wife who loves teaching and tutoring. She is the mother of three grown boys, and in addition to homeschooling them, she has enjoyed a career substitute teaching, counseling, and tutoring. Jan has been working for The Reading Center tutoring students with the Barton System for the past 3 ½ years. She has had the privilege of working with 20+ students during these years and is currently tutoring 9. Most of my current students are enjoying using the Nessy Program at home as a supplement to their work in the Barton System.
Christy has been with the Reading Center for almost two years in the capacity of Operations Manager and Personal Assistant to Tiffany James. Her responsibilities include managing all tutors and parent relations, such as communicating with them about current students and arranging scheduling, tutoring and testing. She communicates regularly with other Nessy Learning Center staff to ensure she can provide any assistance they may require.
Dianne’s background includes a Master of Education degree with certification (research in reading diagnostics and interventions) and a double Major Bachelor of Science, Vocational Rehab (area of special education) and Psychology. She has worked with many wonderful students, covering a range of ‘severe and profoundly challenged’ to ‘gifted and talented’. Currently she has the privilege of teaching fifteen very talented and creative students ranging from ages 4 to almost 30. Nessy has been implemented at this full age span, as well as the Barton Reading System and found to be highly effective to procure strong reading capabilities.
The founder and CEO of The Reading Center is dyslexic entrepreneur Tiffany James. Inspired by the love of teaching early literacy by her grandmother Charlene Gnagy, Ms. James founded a tutoring practice in Texas in 2003 to help struggling readers. This practice evolved into The Reading Center which has developed a reputation as a center for excellence for dyslexia intervention, screening, and information.
Ms. James has been an educator for more than 25 years. A former kindergarten teacher by trade, she is certified reading tutor, a reading specialist, qualified dyslexia screener, and a dyslexia specialist. Because of her cross training and expertise in both reading program implementation for general readers, extensive knowledge of screening and instructional grouping, and her specialty in dyslexia, Ms. James is a sought after consultant. Her knowledge and expertise in dyslexia identification, standardized testing, progress monitoring, and dyslexia advocacy, keep her in demand by both individual families looking for help and advice, and schools and school districts endeavoring to build successful literacy programs.
Before beginning The Reading Center, a visual artist herself, she founded and ran two successful art focused businesses in Texas. A mural and decorative arts company for children’s rooms, and a popular summer fine arts day camp for children 5-12 years of age.
